“The entrepreneurial experience at John Carroll goes beyond the classroom. It taught me how to get involved and the power of networking.” — R.J. Hoover
R.J. Hoover takes what he learned at John Carroll University and his entrepreneurial mindset to stand out in a competitive space — financial services. R.J. is a Financial Professional with Hoover and Associates, where he works one-on-one with business and individual clients to build their financial future.
Financial services isn’t an industry often associated with creativity, but by using creative problem-solving and entrepreneurship principles, R.J. is able to stand out and better serve his clients.
“I love finding solutions and opportunities in areas others may have missed,” says R.J.
Before he’s able to find these solutions and opportunities for clients, he has to earn their trust. “There is a unique personal side to the business that is unlike any other. Developing trust and building meaningful relationships is everything,” R.J. says.
R.J.’s advice to current and future John Carroll students:
“You need to identify what you can excel at. Don’t simply follow your passion, follow your talent. Success will follow.”
R.J. recommends fellow Blue Streaks consider pursuing a minor in entrepreneurship because it adds value to any major.
“An entrepreneurship minor will complement any major or field you wish to pursue. It can be the catalyst to take you from good to great,” says R.J.
